Checking account characteristics
The VLE Connection and Information section on the user file allows you to see the following.
- User profile: teacher, staff, student, parent, or guest.
- Account upload source: CSV import, manual, etc.
- Account creation date.
- Date the user file was last modified.
Checking connection information
The VLE Connection and Information section on the user file allows you to view the following connection information.
- Login name: The login name is unique and is automatically assigned when the account is created. Each login name uses the following format: first name.last name (no accents or capital letters). Users must enter their login name to sign in.
- Username: Once the user has customized their username in the My Account section, this information is updated in the user file as well. The local administrator can also set or edit the customized username. Once a user has set a personalized username, they can use this name to sign in instead.⚠️ Not all projects give users the ability to choose their own username.
- Activation code: If a user’s account is inactive, the account's activation code will be listed. This code must be given to the user so they can activate their account. When they activate their account, they can set their own password. The activation code will then no longer be valid and will not be listed in the user file.
If the user account is active, the date of the user's last sign-in will be displayed under the title of the user file (see section Checking account status).
